Jesus Never Changes - Breakaway Devotionals 2026 - Saturday

One of the first verses I memorized as a young child was Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” I remember hearing a pilot talk about what this verse meant to him as he traveled around the world. I don’t recall his exact words. I think he may have referenced how the time zones and cultures change, but Jesus does not.   

This scripture has become more precious to me as the years pass. In each phase of my life, Jesus has been the one constant. 

Perhaps you enjoy coming to Breakaway because it’s one place you feel closest to God. We’re glad you do. But I have some great news for you. That same God who met you here is going home with you. He is in your car, at your house, in your school or office, and at every place you stop along the way (even Buccee’s – haha!).

Today.

Tomorrow. 

Forever.  

Unchanging. That’s Him. There is no one else in my life who always stays the same. I can count on Him! 

We began the week talking about how Jesus responded immediately to the disciples, and to us as well. We saw how meditating His Word can overcome fear. We discussed the courage it takes to ask for help and to follow Jesus. We looked at how Jesus’s words can anchor our souls.  

And now we wrap those lessons up in the brightly colored ribbon of truth. Jesus Christ is the same. Praise Him!
